Messages from the NAIIA
Presidents

Letter from Dan Price:

Q. What can you tell us about the CPLIC effort that we don’t already know?

A.  Well, not much. But, this FAQ, the 12th in our series, comes to you as my last official offering from the bully pulpit of the NAIIA. Tom Moss officially assumes the roll of NAIIA President 7/1/04. Let me assure you we are in for another great year under his leadership as he, Ways & Means Committee and The Executive Committee guide the affairs of your Association. We are fortunate to have such depth and quality in those positions.

And I wish to utilize this space to publicly recognize those who have worked so hard on the CPLIC project. The Member response has been outrageously good with numerous talented volunteers assisting this complicated birthing. In fact, we have recently communicated with several state-of-domicile counsel, briefing them on our progress, while seeking estimates for their start-up work. Each commented that we have saved  considerable sums of money by ably accomplishing so much on our own. In fact, they have never seen a project like ours completed to this degree BY THE MEMBERS!!!!

First and foremost, we all owe immeasurable gratitude to Michael Hale. But for his idea, expertise and about 3,000 hours of his time, CPLIC wouldn’t exist!

We owe our many diverse, knowledgeable volunteers a great debt of gratitude for their pro bono efforts. Some of these folks have contributed countless hours to the project. You know whom you are, and you should take great satisfaction in a job well done (sure, there will be more to do, but the bulk of your work is completed!). All on these committees have contributed what they could, and we are humbly appreciative for their efforts.  We can only thank them for their professionalism, their wisdom and their belief in this project.

If you have questions, please consult the website and/or feel free to call a Steering Committee member, a State Capital Manager or Michael Hale. And, supporting the CPLIC effort in every way possible has been NAIIA Executive Director, Dave Mehren. He has streamlined our efforts, made suggestions, contributed hours of time, coordinated many tasks and helped the cause to a tremendous degree.

Let there be no doubt we soon will be operating the finest E&O/CGL carrier in existence. The volunteers, who have given so much of their time to make this possible, can and should take pride in the work done to bring us so far in such a short time. And, there is plenty of room for additional volunteers. Much work remains to be done before and after the start-up.  Join us for this extraordinary journey!!!

Respectfully and proudly submitted,
Daniel G. Price, CPCU, RPA
